School-Age

At Tender Care Learning Centers, our school-age children enjoy a safe, fun and educational environment after the school day ends. Knowing that children enjoy interacting and feeling a sense of independence, our afterschool teachers lead a program that creates an organized club-like atmosphere.

Kids are given the freedom to choose from planned activities each day that can include:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Music
  • Culture
  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Cooking
  • Homework help

After school, our children are also encouraged to relax a bit, have a snack and talk with friends. Parents are always welcome! Tender Care encourages families to participate in our family field trips, share their cultural heritage or participate in our evening programs. Please be aware that not all of our Tender Care Learning Center locations have a school-age program.

Questions & Answers

Do you provide meals and snacks?

Yes! We provide a nutritionally balanced breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack that meets the Child and Adult Care Food Program. The primary goal of this program is to help children receive nutritious meals while introducing them to a variety of different types of food. For infants, Tender Care Learning Centers offers infant formula along with cereal, vegetables, and fruit. We believe that the exposure to good nutrition at an early age benefits children by promoting healthy eating habits to last throughout their lives.
At Tender Care Learning Centers, safety is our number one priority. Our schools have biometric keyless entry pads on the main entrance to limit access to the school. Parents, guardians, and authorized pick-up persons of enrolled children use their fingerprints to check their child in or out each day and access the building. If you notify us that a friend or family member will be picking up your child, they will be asked for identification to verify their identity before they are allowed access to the building for pick up. Each school is equipped with cameras both inside and outside the building. For the protection of the children, there is no streaming video on a website or a mobile app.
Communication is extremely important to us. Parents stay connected with their child’s learning through daily interactions using Kaymbu. The Kaymbu app technology is designed to support collaborative partnerships, allowing teachers to share learning and updates from school, and families to share learning and updates from home.
Our expertly trained and experienced teachers will help your child have fun while developing a lifelong love of learning. Not just anyone can be a teacher at Tender Care, we look for teachers and administrators that are passionate about early childhood education. Our teachers meet all state licensing requirements including background checks, clearances, and CPR/Pediatric First Aid certifications before starting their employment. We provide on-going teacher training in health and safety, curriculum, assessment, and child development.
Yes, we take extra care to ensure our schools are in full compliance with each state’s licensing entities. Our schools aren’t just licensed by the state we are located in, but they are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). We are not just a daycare; we care for children – not days! Our focus is on meeting your child’s early care and education needs socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively.
